Seven Sundays of Easter
In certain Christian traditions Easter is celebrated over a 50 day period (not just one Super Sunday). This flowed from the idea that the most important event in human history (the resurrection) was meant to SHAPE us and not just to be celebrated by us. Over 50 days of Easter we will be considering what it means to live our lives in light of Jesus’ resurrection.
JOIN US ON SUNDAYS AS WE OBSERVE THE SEVEN SUNDAYS OF EASTER
-
For the first Sunday of Easter we will have a shortened service (20min) where we define Easter Spirituality based on Acts 1:1-5. The service will be followed by an extended lunch so that we can get to know each other as we embark on a 50 day journey of being shaped by the resurrection.

Experiencing Jesus
On the second Sunday of Easter we will be reflecting on God’s divine mercy in the face of our doubts and fears as we place ourselves in the shoes of Thomas when he experienced Jesus; kindness and thoughtfulness in his moment of doubt.
John 20:19-31
-
Seeing Jesus
On the Third Sunday of Easter we will reflect on the seven mile road where two followers of Jesus have the Scriptures opened to them by Jesus himself as he reveals what Old Testament said about him.
Luke 24:13-35
-
Following Jesus
On the Fourth Sunday of Easter we will reflect on the implications of Jesus asking his disciples to follow him before he ever tells them to believe in him.
John 10:1-10
-
Suffering Like Jesus
We will be switching the themes of the Fifth and Sixth Sundays of Easter outlined in the church calendar. On the Fifth Sunday of Easter we will be reflecting on our call to suffer for doing good and the role of the Holy Spirit as we follow Christ in this way.
1 Peter 3:13-22
-
Serving Like Jesus
Once a month from May to August we will be pausing our regular Sunday services to serve our city based on the call in Romans 12 where Paul tells us that we worship God when we offer our bodies as a living sacrifice. The Sixth Sunday of Easter falls on Mother’s Day so we will gather to serve single moms in Los Angeles at Ethos Society in Koreatown. CLICK HERE for directions to Ethos Society.
1 Peter 2:2-10

Praying Like Jesus
On the last Sunday of Easter we will reflect on the High Priestly Prayer of Jesus and will spend some extended time to pray for our nation, city, church, and one another.
