Few topics stir as much passion, and as much pain, in the church as sexuality. Many of us have been handed conclusions without ever being shown the work behind them. For three weeks, we’ll slow down and do that work together.

We’ll begin with the basics of biblical interpretation: how to read Scripture in its historical, cultural, and literary context, and why thoughtful, faithful Christians can read the same text differently. Then we’ll look closely at the specific passages most often cited in this conversation, asking what they meant to their original audiences and how they speak to us now. Along the way, we will consider a case for why welcoming and affirming LGBTQ people is not a departure from the Bible but a faithful expression of its deepest commitments to Jesus and His Gospel.
